The Heavenly Desserts café in Derby is teaming up with local artist, Laura Donaldson, tomorrow (Friday 7th July) to celebrate National Chocolate Day by creating an artistic first for the city where the local artist will be recreating the Derby Skyline on canvas using only chocolate.
National Chocolate Day has been celebrated in the UK on July 7th since 2009, with this year marking the 467th year of Chocolate being introduced to Europe. Shoppers, and the media, are invited to join Laura at the Derby Heavenly Desserts store at the Intu Shopping Centre, London Rd, Derby, from 11am – 4pm where Laura hopes to complete her masterpiece.
During the day, staff will be on hand to talk through their knowledge of chocolate, with Chocoholics across the region expected to take time out to indulge in their passion for the sweet treat. For those who are able to make it to the store tomorrow to see Laura in action, the store are offering one lucky chocoholic the chance to take home the new temporary representation of Derby’s skyline by posting a picture of themselves at event on the Heavenly Desserts Facebook Page using the hashtag #NationalChocolateDay.
